MBBS Program

West China School of Medicine or West China Center of Medical Sciences, Sichuan University, was founded in 1910, 5 Christian Misssions from United States, Great Britain and Canada began the institution within what was then the Medical College of West China Union University. Before it was merged with Sichaun University in 2000, by the decision of Chinese Central goverment, the school was called West China University of Medical Sciences or Huaxi Medical university and ranked third among medical institutes in China. The West China School of Medicine has been consistently regarded as one of the top 5 medical schools in China for the last 50 years.

Sichuan University was among the first universities in China to enroll international MBBS students taught in English. SCU started enrolling international MBBS students since 2001 with the sole cooperation of our company, Newtonian Science Counseling Institute. So far, 15 batches of international MBBS students enrolled by us have been graduated from Sichuan University and, after successfully passing their licensing examinations, are practicing medicine in the hospitals of their own countries including the USA and the UK.

So far, we have enrolled students from more than 30 countries including Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Srilanka, Maldives, Thailand, Malaysia, USA, Canada, Saudi Arab, Tanzania, South Africa, etc.

The main hospital of Sichuan University is known as 'The First University Hospital' with 5000 beds and is considered the single largest hospital in China.The hospital has been ranked among the top hospitals in China since 1990 and is a tertiary medical center of critical care for all of South West China. The hospital has been awared as a "Class A Hospital of the HIghest Grade". Our MBBS students mainly practice and do internship in this hospital. The other hospitals of SCU are known as The Second University Hospital, The Fourth University Hospital and The Hospital of Stomatology. The second hospital of the SCU is the largest Women's and Children's hospital in China. It is awarded the title of "Baby Friendly Hospital" by the Ministry of Health and WHO. The Fourth University Hospital, founded in 1917, is the only specialized hospital among all the medical universitties in China for occupational diseases. The Hospital of Stomatology has along been known as the birth place of the modern stomatology and the earliest hospital of stomatology in China. It was granted a name as the College of Stomatology, West China University of Medical Sciences and was changed into West China College of Stomatology, Sichuan University in 2000.

Requirements of Program


      • Teaching of medical knowledge will be based on solid scientific principles and enable students to develop lifelong learning habits, corresponding clinical skills and appropriate professional ethics.
      • Education will not focus on the basic principles of medical science and clinical skills, but also develop students analytical skills and their ability to make sound judgments based on evidence and experience.
      • The students will engage in effective medical internships under the guidance of senior physicians before graduation.

3.Basic Knowledge:

      • Basic Chinese language and todays China.
      • Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Life science, behavioral science and social science, as they are related to medicine, and how to use this knowledge to guide their medical practice.
      • Causes of common disease and frequently-occuring disease including mental illness, the impact of environmental, social, behavioral and psychological factors on the occurrence and development of disease and the importance of disease prevention. Pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, diagnosis and preventive ways of common disease and frequently- occurring diseases.
      • Basic knowledge of pharmacology and clinical principles of rational drug use.
      • Normal pregnancy and delivery, common obstetric emergency treatment, principles of prenatal and postnatal health care, and family planning.
      • Health education and disease prevention, common diseases, disabilities, rehabilitation,, hospice care and general practice.

Objectives of Program

The software Engineering Program has been designed to prepare students for a successful career in the software industry and the information technology sector as software engineering professionals with a high level of international competitiveness. Through challenging curricula and innovative courses that combines theory and practice, students will acquire a solid understanding of all aspects of software development, a profound comprehension of engineering economics and entrepreneurship in software practice, and a breadth of knowledge and skills in engineering, computer science, mathematics and complementary studies that will provide students a base for life-long learning.
