Brief Introduction

Education Network Pvt. Ltd. has been the  representative of  Kunming Medical University [KMU] since 2011, to enroll international MBBS students. As being the official agency of KMU, all the international students need to send their applications to us in order to process for admissions at KMU. So far, we have enrolled students from more than 30 countries. Therefore, the students of any country are requested to contact us directly or through our sub-agents in their own countries.                                        

Kunming Medical University  is one of the top universities of Yunnan Province. In 1981, it was among the first institutions authorized to confer Master’s Degree and it was authorized to confer Doctoral Degree in 1998. It became one of the first universities listed in National Basic Ability Construction Project of Western and Central China in 2012. KMU has educated over 100,000 graduates since its inception. The university has 3 campuses including Chenggong Campus [ main campus], Renmin West Road Campus and Pingzheng Campus, totally occupying 98.8 hectares.

Students and Faculties

Kunming Medical University has about 15,000 students, of which 2,811 are graduate students. There are 6,199 staffs and faculties of which 1,450 are professors and associate professors. KMU has over 60 foreign scholars as honorary professor and guest professor. There are 18 schools [departments], 15 affiliated hospitals with over 10,000 beds and 69 practice sites which provide a stable study and practical environment for students. Since 1998, KMU has recruited and trained graduate students, undergraduate students, advanced medical training students and Chinese language learning students from over 30 countries and regions.

Kunming Medical University  is located in Kunming City, the capital of Yunnan Province, China. It is the largest specialized medical university of higher medical education, scientific research and medical service in Yunnan Province.

About  MBBS at Kunming Medical University

Kunming Medical University  has been authorized to enroll international MBBS students in English. It is to be noted that there are only 44 standard medical universities which have been authorized by Ministry of Education, China to enroll international MBBS students. Therefore, all international students must take admissions only among these 44 medical universities if they want to study MBBS courses in English medium. KMU strictly follows the regulations of MOE, China, in regard to policies to recruit international MBBS students, in order to impact quality medical education like course duration, internship, course curriculum, teachers qualification, admission criteria, etc.

Hospital Affiliated to KMU

Kunming Medical University could well meet the students’ need of teaching and practice, its completed teaching and practice system contains 15 affiliated hospitals, 19 teaching hospitals, 42 practice hospitals, 21 community practice teaching bases, 76 profession-related teaching and practice bases. Among the 15 affiliated hospitals, the First and the Second Affiliated Hospital are both Grade-A tertiary general hospitals, the Third Affiliated Hospital and the Affiliated Stomatology Hospital are Grade-A tertiary specialized hospitals in Oncology and Stomatology respectively, reaching the top of their fields in Yunnan.  All of these provide KMU students with a stable learning and practicing network and environment.

NOTE: After MBBS students are enrolled at Kunming Medical University, top students are awarded with Partial Scholarships of RMB 8000/5000/4000 or RMB 3000 depending upon their marks in their exams.
