Overview

Brief Introduction

Newtonian Science Counselling Institute, sister company of Education Network, has been the official representative of Sichuan University since 2001 (both the companies belong to the same ownership) to enroll international MBBS students. We have also been enrolling students  for Civil Engineering, Software Engineering, Business Management, Tourism and Hospitality Management taught in English & Chinese Language with Sister-City or Belt and Road Scholarship. As being the official agency of SCU, all the international MBBS students need to send their applications to us in order to process for admissions at SCU. Those MBBS students who apply through us enjoy 20% discount in their tuition fee of each year. So far, we have enrolled students from more than 30 countries. Therefore, the students of any country are requested to contact us directly or through our sub-agents in their own countries.              

Sichuan University is a leading research-oriented university in western China, recognized as a category-A institution in the Double First-Class Initiative of China. Founded in 1896, Sichuan University is one of the oldest universities in China. It is a 211 Project  and 985 First Grade University administrated directly by Ministry of Education, China. Sichuan University is among the selected universities authorized to enroll international scholarship students up to Post Doctorate Level.

West China School of Medicine, Sichuan University

Located in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, West China School of Medicine/West China Hospital (WCSM/WCH) traces its origins back to 1892. It was established through the collaborative endeavors of Christian missionaries from the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada. Today, it stands as a national general hospital and a premier center for the diagnosis and treatment of severe and complex illnesses. Additionally, it is celebrated as a leading medical school in China. WCSM/WCH holds the distinction of being the foremost research-centric hospital in the nation. It serves as a national hub for elite medical research and pioneering technological innovation. Both the hospital and the medical school function synergistically, unified under a singular administrative umbrella.

Simulation Center

West China Medical Simulation Center is one of the largest simulation centers in China, with a total area of 11000m. It was set up in 1996 and accredited by the American College of Surgeons in 2011. It was also the first accredited institution by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) in Asia and the first American Heart Association (AHA) training base in mainland China.

About MBBS in Sichuan University

Hospitals of West China School of Medicine

1. First University Hospital:

It is the largest general hospital in China. The hospital has about 5000 beds. Now it has been recently upgraded to be the single largest hospital in the world. This hospital has been awarded as ‘Class A Hospital of the Highest Grade’. Our students carry out their clinical practices mainly in this hospital. The hospital covers an area of 46.7 hectares, owns 400,000 square meters of building for clinical use while its fixed assets arrive at 30 billion RMB, which ranks the first in China and the percentage of clinical usage reaches over 100%. In 2007 the Outpatient Department treated 23.5 million patients while In-patient Department treated 1.07 million patients, 55,000 of whom were operation cases. The present staff number is 6100, more than 550 of whom are professors and associate professors including one academician in Chinese Science Academy. There exists a Post-doctorate Program of National Clinical Medicine and Basic Medicine, the doctorate program of first class in clinical medicine, 31 programs leading to Doctorate Degree. The programs leading to Master’s Degree cover all the disciplines in the hospital. West China Hospital of Sichuan University has become a comprehensive research hospital with diverse disciplines, abundant faculty resources, advanced medical technology, modern medical equipment, and li potential in medical research. There is 1 State Laboratory, 2 key laboratories of the Ministry of Education (MOE), 9 key disciplines of MOE, 2 disciplines with the national ‘211’ Project, five key programs of the Ministry of Health, 16 key disciplines, and 25 key laboratories at the provincial level respectively. There are 36 clinical departments, 15 medical technology departments, 25 open laboratories of scientific and research centers, and Sichuan International Hospital, which faces the whole world. The hospital has been ranked among the top hospitals in China since 1990 and is the medical center of sophisticated and severe cases, the center of medical education, and the scientific research in Southwest China arranged by MOH and MOE.

2. Second University Hospital

Founded in 1989, It is the largest Women’s and Children’s hospital in Southwest China. It enjoys the title of “Baby Friendly Hospital” awarded by the Ministry of Health and WHO. Also located in this hospital are the China Birth Defect Monitoring Center, the Prenatal Research Center, and the Emergency Center for Acute Respiratory Tract Infection in Children.

3. Third University Hospital:

This is the only specialized hospital among all the medical universities in China for occupational diseases Founded in 1917.

4. Fourth University Hospital

West China Fourth Hospital, Sichuan University was established in 1974. It is a specialized hospital in preventing and treating occupational diseases, and geriatric diseases, especially for osteoporosis and palliative medicine.

5. Hospital of Stomatology

The Hospital of Stomatology, Sichuan University has long been known as the birthplace of modern Stomatology and the earliest hospital of Stomatology in China. In 1985, it was granted a name as the College of Stomatology, West China University of Medical Sciences and was changed into West China College of Stomatology, Sichuan University in 2000. West China College of Stomatology annually serves 400 thousand patients in outpatient clinics and 3000 patients treated in inpatient wards. Currently, the Hospital has a capacity of 220 dental chairs and 507 staff members. In 1991, with the approval of the Ministry of Public Health, the Dental Implantology Center was set up. It is the first of its kind in China that integrates teaching, research, and clinical practice.

Requirements

• Eligibility :

  • The minimum qualification is Senior High School or 10+2 or A level.
  • The minimum percentage required is 70% in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English.
  • The requirement, however, may vary according to the standard of high school education in different countries.

Scholarship

Sichuan University “Belt and Road” Scholarship

This Scholarship is available for the undergraduate and Graduate applicants from the “ Belt and Road Initiative” countries.

Majors offering the Scholarship

• Undergraduate program: 20,000 yuan/year [MBBS, Software Engineering, Tourism Management, Civil Engineering, International Business Management and Chinese Language]
• Master’s program: Full scholarship [all majors]
• PhD program: Full scholarship [all majors]

 The applicants must have good scores and there will be online interview for the selection of “ Belt and Road Scholarship”.

Sichuan University “Sister City Scholarship”

Chengdu Government Sister-Cities Scholarships is offered by Chengdu Municipal Government. This Scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate applicants from the Sister Cities of Chengdu. International students should check which cities of their countries have Sister City relationship with Chengdu City. For example: In Nepal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City and Lalitpur Metropolitan City have Sister City relationship with Chengdu city. Only Nepalese students who were born, lived or studied in these two Metropolitan Cities are eligible for applying Sister City Scholarship.

CSC Scholarship in Sichuan University

The Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC Scholarship) is a scholarship program funded by the Chinese government to support international students to study in Chinese universities. The scholarship is offered by the China Scholarship Council (CSC) in collaboration with Chinese universities.
